“Not done yet”: Chelsea star insists there’s plenty more to come from the team under Tuchel

Andreas Christensen insists Chelsea still have room for improvement

Speaking to the club’s official website, Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has claimed that the team has plenty of scope for improvement despite their near-perfect start under Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea are on an eleven-game unbeaten streak under the German tactician, winning eight of those fixtures. Having picked up wins against the likes of Liverpool and Everton, Chelsea are back in the top four and are well within a shout of finishing fourth or higher.

Christensen, who hadn’t played much under Tuchel’s predecessor, Frank Lampard, has made the most of the chances he got following an injury to Thiago Silva.

Slotting in at the heart of Chelsea’s three man defence, the Austrian has ensured that the Blues have not conceded a single goal in close to nine hours now, keeping out the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid along the way.

The centre-back, however, insists that he and the team are still building, while adding that there’s room for improvement.

“It’s just very important for us to keep building on what we’re having at the minute. We’re still building as a team and we’re not done yet. We have to keep building, keep the momentum and keep winning.”

Chelsea are 11 games unbeaten under Tuchel

On a personal note, Christensen added that it was pleasing for him to get a regular run of games and that he is enjoying his current run.

“It’s been good to come in and obviously when the team is playing well, it’s easier for me to come in because I haven’t played a lot in a long time. It’s been great and I’m trying to enjoy every minute of it.”

Up next for Chelsea is a tricky fixture against Leeds United, who will play an attacking brand of football. Christensen & co. will need to be at the top of their game to ensure that the Chelsea juggernaut under Tuchel doesn’t stop.
