According to Evening Standard, Thomas Tuchel is said to have resolved things with Callum Hudson-Odoi after the Southampton game.
What happened was, Hudson-Odoi was brought on at halftime but hauled off before the game ended. While Chelsea were held to a draw in the game, it was the Hudson-Odoi’s situation that left things a bit on the fiery side.
Tuchel went on to question the player’s attitude and energy’ in the game and explained his decision further.
“It is not a big thing at all for me. I have spoken to Callum, and I’ve spoken to the whole group. Sometimes, these things happen in football and it was just my decision.
Maybe I was being harsh on him because he was on my side of the pitch and I was up close to him, but I did not feel that he was really into the game.”
Tuchel further insisted that it was not a big issue, but people constantly talking about it makes it seem like a problem.
But that decision was in the moment and for that day only. For me, this is absolutely not a big thing and only becomes one if people want to talk about it.”
Things appear to have reached normal after Tuchel confirmed that the academy graduate is in line for an appearance against Atletico Madrid in the midweek Champions League game.
Tuchel did provide a word of caution to the youngster that he must take the positive out of it and not mull over the situation much.
