Chelsea fans amused as John Terry shows clear bias in celebration
Chelsea legend John Terry has had numerous opportunities to celebrate against Arsenal during his days as a Blues star.
He has faced the Gunners 36 times in his career and has been on the winning side 15 times. Given the rivalry between the two sides, it is fair to say he has not left the animosity behind. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Now the assistant coach at Aston Villa, the Englishman celebrated when Ollie Watkins gave the Villans the lead against the Gunners yesterday night.
While it may not be unusual to see an assistant coach celebrating his team scoring, there is a stark contrast in Terry demeanour compared to when Villa equalized against Chelsea in December. On that occasion, Terry gave a polite clap.
While it isn’t much, it does indicate to Terry having a spot for Chelsea in his heart. Having served the club for 19 years, it is to be expected. It would appear you can take Terry out of Chelsea but not the Chelsea within him.
