Tuchel reveals classy Lampard gesture after Chelsea sacking

Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard sent a classy message to his successor Thomas Tuchel

According to The Mirror, Thomas Tuchel has revealed that his predecessor Frank Lampard sent him a message upon taking charge at Chelsea.

The German took over from the Blues legend on Tuesday. While there is still much to do, Tuchel’s first game in charge against Wolverhampton Wanderers showed much promise.

Speaking to the press, Tuchel revealed that Lampard had been in touch with him and even wished him good luck for the future.

Tuchel hopes there will not be any untoward criticism towards the team due to Lampard’s sacking. A club legend, his dismissal was met with a scoff from a section of the fanbase.

The 47-year-old believes any backlash will influence the team directly and will be detrimental to the players looking to perform on the pitch.

“That would be hard on the team because we need our supporters like any team.”

While Lampard will always be remembered with fondness, any anger regarding his dismissal must not be taken out on Tuchel. The German is also committed to succeeding at Chelsea and should be given all the support he needs to get it done.

Tuchel and Lampard appear to have respect for each other. The German paid tribute to his predecessor’s legacy at the club after taking over.

The right tools!

Lampard leaves behind a team that has the right mix of youth and experience. Tuchel has been given an excellent foundation to build his reign on and will hopefully do that.

Unlike Lampard, Tuchel is not a novice in the management game. He made his name at Augsburg and Mainz before going on to manage Borussia Dortmund and PSG. The experience of having managed big names before will aid his cause at Chelsea.

Tuchel is one of the game’s finest tactical minds. He will certainly be under the scanner at Chelsea but there is no reason why he cannot take us back to the top. Anything else would be considered ‘not good enough’ at Stamford Bridge.
