Transfer News: Chelsea in the race to sign Lazio forward Raul Moro
A report by Italian publication La Lazio Siamo Noi (h/t Express) mentions that Lazio forward Raul Moro is at a ‘crossroads’ regarding his future, with Chelsea being one of the clubs interested in signing him.
Moro comes from the famed La Masia youth academy of Barcelona, where the Italians signed him from in 2019. He is now dissatisfied with the number of first-team minutes that he is getting with the Rome-based club.
The 18-year-old just has one minute of senior football in his career, which in the 2-1 defeat against Juventus in Serie A last season.
He plays more regularly in Primavera 1, where he has 6 goals in as many matches this season. Despite his lack of senior football, the Spanish winger is still highly rated by his club.
One for the future
Now, their resolve could be tested with a number of clubs interested in their starlet. The report mentions that several other Premier League clubs are interested in him apart from Chelsea.
Without mentioning the names of the other English teams, the report states that there is interest from other European clubs as well. This includes a ‘top Italian club’ who have already enquired about him.
If the player does have to leave, then Lazio would prefer a move in the summer. If Chelsea decide to get him for a reasonable fee, then it could be a great long-term move.
The Chelsea academy does not have a shortage of good forwards. Juud Soonsup-Bell has signed a professional contract with the club.
