“Makes my job more exciting”: Lampard looking forward to turning around Chelsea fortunes

Frank Lampard is excited about trying to turn around Chelsea fortunes

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has admitted that he is excited to learn more about himself and the team as he attempts to turn around the club’s fortunes.

The Blues are currently going through a tough run of results. A run of just one win in six has seen us drop to ninth in the Premier League table.

With the onus on Lampard to turn around our fortunes, the club legend appears to be optimistic. He believes both he and his players can learn more about themselves as they look to extract themselves from the mess.

“I find this more challenging in a good way in terms of my job, because I can find out more about myself. I can find out more about every member of the team, every member of the staff. And it actually makes my job more exciting.”

As one of the biggest jobs in European football, the Chelsea hotseat comes with its own set of expectations. Having served as a player, Lampard would be well aware of what is expected of him.

“I understand the expectations of a club like this, but I love doing what I’m doing and I never expected an easy run in this job.”

Taking nothing for granted!

Lampard appears to always be on guard despite the club’s results. He is wary when things are going right and is on guard against complacency creeping in.

“When things are going well I put more pressure on myself, because I don’t like things going well because I’ll worry about what’s around the corner.”

It is good to see Lampard upbeat about the possibilities of what he can discover as Chelsea look to stem the rot. All teams have their ups and downs and much can be learned from defeats if one is willing to.

Chelsea face just such a moment and Lampard will hope that it is just the darkness before the end of the tunnel.

Will Roman Abramovich give Lampard the time to get things right?

The Blues will look to get back to winning ways against Morecambe this Sunday. We next take on Scott Parker’s Fulham in the Premier League.

Having ceded ground in the title race, the Blues cannot afford to drop any more points against the Cottagers.
