Frank Lampard wants better end product from Callum Hudson-Odoi
As reported by the Independent, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has urged winger Callum Hudson-Odoi to step up and improve his end product after recent impressive displays.
The 20-year-old has shown plenty of potential so far in his burgeoning career, but injuries and lack of consistency has meant he hasn’t been able to nail down a place in the Chelsea starting XI.
However, Hudson-Odoi has shown that he is making great strides in the right direction in the last two matches against Arsenal and Aston Villa. While Chelsea ended up losing and drawing the two matches, respectively, the Englishman came out with plenty of credit for his performances.
And, Lampard has now urged him to build upon it and better his end product to become a top Premier League winger.
“The obvious next part is end product. We want to see Callum, as I think he did against Arsenal, to go one-versus-one, to be confident to go one-versus-one, because he has the ability to do it. Callum definitely has the capabilities and that will be the next stage for him.”
Lampard also lauded the England international’s performance against Aston Villa on Monday. This could hint at a potential start for Hudson-Odoi when Chelsea face Manchester City this weekend at Stamford Bridge.
“I liked Callum’s performance against Villa and I liked the range of his passing, which was very evident in the first half. There were a couple of great crossfield balls, and some of his footwork, touches and movement were great.”
