According to the Independent, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard believes he holds the key that can unlock his side’s attack.
The Blues believes deploying two No.8s helps get the best out of his side. He believes the setup will make his side more dangerous going forward.
Lampard developed a 4-3-3 formation in order to fit both Kai Havertz and Mason Mount into the midfield. The setup also helped create space for the Chelsea wingers.
The Blues legend is well aware of the question marks that plague his tactics. However, he is sticking to his guns and believes that the setup is structured to get the best out of players at his disposal.
With a myriad of different players at his disposal, Lampard believes his tactics help squeeze out the best of their abilities.
“These players play in different ways and arrive between the lines and sometimes into the area inhabited by an orthodox number 10.”
Lampard admits his team can be more dangerous. He has however appealed for time as the players and team come to terms with what is expected of them.
“They can be, for me, more dangerous, but those are the things that need time.”
Integrating new players into a team is always difficult. Lampard has to do so with a number of stars, given our busy summer window. Hopefully, his efforts will bear fruit soon, with our team becoming more consistent.
The Blues were at times a sight to behold against Morecambe. The Blues played excellent football and Timo Werner was also able to break his goal drought.
With confidence renewed, the German will now hopefully go on to spearhead out frontline with more joy.
