Chelsea to take on Barnsley in the FA Cup fifth round on 11 February
According to Football.london, Chelsea have discovered when they are to face off against Barnsley in their FA Cup fifth-round tie.
The fixture will now take place on February 11 at 8 pm. Chelsea will travel to Oakwell to take on the Championship side. The Blues were drawn at home for the previous two rounds of the competition.
It will also be Thomas Tuchel’s first time in the historical competition. He will hope to succeed where his predecessor faltered last season.
Chelsea were fortunate enough to have drawn lower league clubs so far. The Blues saw off Morecambe in the third round before downing Luton Town in the fourth round.
The win against Luton proved to be Frank Lampard’s last game in charge as he was dismissed a day later.
Chelsea made it to the final of the competition last season. Despite taking an easy lead, the Blues succumbed to an Arsenal comeback and lost 2-1.
The game has also been selected for broadcast on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer. Barnsley got to this stage by beating Norwich City in the previous round.
Chelsea have an illustrious history in the competition, having won it eight times. Our last triumph came in 2018 under Antonio Conte. Only Manchester United and Arsenal have won the trophy more times than us.
