Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko keen to make Napoli move permanent
Speaking to Radio Marte via Football Italia (h/t Daily Mail), the agent of Tiemoue Bakayoko has opened up on his client’s future at Chelsea.
The Frenchman joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 from Monaco. He made 43 appearances for the Blues that season, scoring three goals.
He has not played for the club since and has had loan spells at AC Milan and Monaco. Both proved to be promising but eventually underwhelming.
Now at Napoli, Bakayoko has made the starting XI almost in every game under Gennaro Gattuso. He has made 18 appearances so far and looks a much happier player out on the field.
The player scored his first goal in Napoli colours on Sunday. It appears to have done a world of good to his confidence. With a newfound purpose, he can now resurrect his career.
Given the turnaround, it comes as no surprise that he is keen to make his move permanent. Bakayoko’s brother Abdoulaye, who also happens to be his agent, confirmed the same.
“He is very happy for his first goal, it’s been a long time since he had scored the last one.”
Abdoulaye confirmed that as of yet there has been no conversation with Chelsea about making the deal permanent. Given that he does not feature in Frank Lampard’s plans, a move would benefit all parties.
“He has played for many clubs, but he is happy at Napoli, the results are there and this club would be an ideal option for the future.”
The midfielder is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in 2022. Chelsea might well have to settle for lesser than the £40m they paid for him just four years ago.

A dominant midfielder for Monaco, much was expected of Bakayoko when he joined Chelsea. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, it was not to be. Hopefully, he can now reignite his career at Napoli.
