Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech reacts on social media after being ruled out of Arsenal clash
It has been a difficult start to the season for Chelsea new boy Hakim Ziyech, given his struggles with injury absence.
The Moroccan international has been a creative force for the Blues since joining the club in the summer. More than his on-field performances, the struggle we have faced is to ensure he stays fit.
Ziyech has now missed 10 games due to injuries sustained over the course of the campaign. It will become 11 this weekend after Frank Lampard confirmed the player will not take part against Arsenal.
Thankfully, it is not a long-term concern and Ziyech could return as early as next week.
By scoring two goals and making three assists in just 612 minutes, Ziyech has shown he has what it takes to succeed in England. All he needs to do now is ensure he is back to full fitness and get a consistent run of games.
Following Lampard’s comments, Ziyech took to Instagram (h/t Football.london) to showcase him spending time with Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
While it has little to do with his fitness, it is good to see our new signings bond off the field. The video uploaded on Ziyech’s Instagram page showcases the duo presumably at the canteen at Cobham.
The summer recruitment drive saw the Blues bring in a number of first-team stars. It is never easy to reset a team and the Blues have seen their new boys struggle at times.
Hopefully it will get easier as we go deeper into the season.

Ziyech has what it takes to be the player to unlock opposition defences. The likes of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner haven’t really set the pulses racing with their performances.
The return of Ziyech should hopefully help us unlock the German duo’s abilities.
