Chelsea U-23 secured a massive 6-1 win over Manchester United in Premier League 2

Manchester United U-23 were handed a footballing lesson by Chelsea U-23 in their Premier League 2 match at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Friday.

Marcel Lewis started the scoring for Chelsea within just 2 minutes through a deflected shot inside the box. The assist came from the highly-rated Faustino Anjorin, who had recently made his European debut for the senior team.

Jude Soonsup-Bell went on a mazy run and finished spectacularly with his weaker foot to double Chelsea’s lead just a minute later. Faustino Anjorin then got himself on the scoresheet in the 34th minute.

He started and finished the move to score Chelsea’s 3rd. The shot may have taken a little deflection on the way in but it was Anjorin’s quick feet around the edge of the box which made the scoring chance possible.

Valentino Livramento’s deceptive pace won him a penalty when he was brought down by Alvaro Fernandez in the box just after half-time. Anjorin dispatched the resulting spot-kick to bag a brace on the day.

Lewis showed great instinct to turn inside the box and score his second on the night in the 68th minute before Anjorin provided a sumptuous assist for Charlie Brown’s goal in the 74th minute.

Joe Hugill scored United’s only goal in the 84th minute to wrap up the 6-1 scoreline.

Anjorin finished the match with 2 goals and 2 assists and starred in a Chelsea performance which warranted their top-spot status in the league.

The result saw Chelsea extend their lead to 4 points at the top of the Premier League 2 table. Manchester City U-23 and Blackburn U-23 are in 2nd and 3rd respectively and have played one game fewer than the Blues.

The future looks bright for the 19-year-old Tino Anjorin. Performances like this could force Frank Lampard to give the Englishman more minutes with the senior team this season.
