“We lost the game” – Chelsea star issues a brutally honest response to loss vs Wolves

N’Golo Kante reveals what cost Chelsea dearly against Wolves

According to Amazon Prime Video (h/t Football.london), Chelsea star N’Golo Kante believes the Blues have no one but themselves to blame for the loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Frank Lampard’s side fell to their second straight Premier League loss in our trip to the Molineux. Olivier Giroud gave us the lead but goals from Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto saw us come away with no points.

With the loss, we have once again lost the opportunity to close the gap on Tottenham at the top.

Chelsea were eager for the win and committed bodies forward in search of a winner. It was during one of these forays that Wolves hit us on the counter. In fact, Neto’s winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time was nothing short of a sucker punch.

“We tried to get back in front and by trying to win the game we conceded many counter-attacks and they scored late and we lost the game.”

The twin defeats come after a 14-game unbeaten run that saw us rise up the table after a poor start to the season.

It was a frustrating night for Chelsea and Frank Lampard

Kante admits that the results we have seen of late is not what the club wants. He is keen to get back to winning ways when we face West Ham United next Monday.

“We need to get back to winning ways in the next game against West Ham after resting.”

With games coming thick and fast in the festive season, it is important that we build momentum going into the new year. The title race this season is as close as it has been in recent memory, meaning we cannot afford to drop any more points.

The Chelsea side is still a project under progress and will hopefully learn from these reversals.
