A View From The Bridge

“It doesn’t matter” – Versatile Chelsea star makes a revelation following mixed start to the season

Chelsea star Kai Havertz reveals his best position to Frank Lampard

According to The Express, Chelsea star Kai Havertz is happy to play where needed as he looks to kick on his career at the club.

The club’s biggest signing of the summer, the German ace has endured a mixed start to life at the Bridge. Absences due to injuries and coronavirus have done little to see him hit a purple patch in Blue.

Frank Lampard however does not seem concerned and is happy enough with Havertz’s performances.

“I am very happy to play and at the moment it doesn’t matter which position.”

With the club heading into their busy December schedule, Havertz will find himself with no shortage of opportunities to impress.

With the likes of Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi ruled out for the next two weeks, he could even be set to play a prominent role in the Blues attack.

Havertz admits he has an affinity for offensive positions and has the experience of playing a variety of roles while at Bayer Leverkusen.

“I like to play offensively but in Leverkusen I think I played in every offensive position, so for me it doesn’t matter what position it is.”

Havertz already has a hattrick for Chelsea

Havertz had admitted earlier that he initially found it difficult to come to grips with the rise in the level of football in England.

Hopefully, he will find himself more at ease in the coming weeks. An extremely talented player, Havertz has a long way to go in his career. There is every chance he will go down in Chelsea history books if he progresses as expected.

Havertz’s readiness to play anywhere in the attack not only showcases his confidence to play a variety of roles but also his willingness to contribute to the team.

With him getting back to his best slowly yet steadily, the day may not be far when he is an automatic pick for the Blues first XI.
