Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi set to return to Chelsea training
According to The Evening Standard, Chelsea will welcome back Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi to training ahead of the West Ham United clash next Monday.
Both players are suffering from hamstring injuries and were absent for our games against Krasnodar, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With us losing two of them, it is fair to say that their attacking acumen was missed. Their return should come as a welcome boost going into the busy festive schedule.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard revealed that both players will return to training by the end of the week.
“Hakim and Callum will hopefully be training by the end of the week.”
Lampard however refused to confirm if the duo will feature against the Hammers. Given the injuries Ziyech has had since signing for us, maybe it is better to play it safe.
Of the two, Ziyech can be considered more critical to the Blues attack. The Moroccan is a savant at creating goalscoring opportunities and has so far impressed for Chelsea when fit.
Ziyech’s return could also help other Blues stars regain their best form. German striker Timo Werner has also not scored in eight games for Chelsea and could do with the likes of Ziyech supplying him.
