Chelsea among six clubs offered a chance to sign Serie A superstar

Chelsea to battle Premier League rivals for Paulo Dybala

According to 90min (h/t Express), Chelsea are among a smatter of Premier League clubs offered a chance to sign Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

While we are well-stocked in the attack, the prospect of bringing in another world-class attacker could appeal to Roman Abramovich. The prospect of the Argentine superstar playing with the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, and Christian Pulisic is an exciting prospect.

Dybala has endured a slow start to the season, making just 10 appearances. Of these, six have come as a starter, with him scoring a solitary goal. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Paulo Dybala

Dybala’s form this campaign is in stark contrast to his performances last season. The 27-year-old scored 17 times in all competitions and even racked up 14 assists to help the Old Lady to the league title. (h/t Transfermarkt)

There appears to be considerable competition for his signature with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Manchester City all being offered the Argentine’s services. (h/t Express)

While staying put at Juventus is an option, the report claims that the Old Lady are keen to bring in income thanks to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Tottenham came close to signing Dybala earlier this year

Options galore!

Dybala had been earlier linked with a move to the Premier League. Both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur came close to signing him but could not see the deal through. (h/t The Express)

Manchester City also need a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero while it remains to be seen Liverpool need Dybala if at all. A move to Arsenal at least at this point in time would be a step down for the player.

At 27, he is in his prime and competing for trophies. Chelsea can give him that opportunity better than most teams.

Dybala is not in Andrea Pirlo’s plans

More Chelsea News

Dybala is a fantastic footballer and landing him would only increase our attacking options. However, we seem stacked in the attack and it will be interesting to see if we are keen to brign in more players.

The potential departure of Olivier Giroud in the summer could open up a spot in attack that needs filling. Whether Dybala is the solution remains to be seen.
