Chelsea wonderkid Billy Gilmour once again reminded fans of what a special talent he is in our home draw to Krasnodar in the UEFA Champions League.
With nothing to play for, Chelsea made 10 changes to the team that took on Leeds United at the weekend. While the wholesale changes did affect our rhythm, one player who shone was Gilmour.
The 19-year-old was making his first start for the club since returning from injury. He hardly missed a step and make it appear as if he was never away.
Gilmour went on to pick up the man of the match award for his performance. With this, he has now won the award in each of his Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League full debuts.
Blues boss Frank Lampard too was full of praise for the youngster after full time. He also encouraged the youngster to push for more first-team opportunities in the future. (h/t Sky Sports)
“I expect to see more of the same from Billy as he gets stronger now he is past his injury.”
