The Chelsea new boys once again made the differene for Frank Lampard’s side on the pitch.
Coming off the back of a six-game clean sheet streak, the Blues would have been expected to secure all three points against a struggling Sheffield United side.
They were given a rude awakening when David McGoldrick put the Blades ahead in the ninth minute. The new-look Blues side, however, does not know when it is beaten and hit back hard.
Tammy Abraham brought us level before Ben Chilwell sent us in ahead at half time. Fellow summer defensive addition Thiago Silva made it 3-1 in the 77th minute to give us a cushion.
Chelsea were far from done though, as Timo Werner popped up three minutes later to complete a 4-1 rout. Although not on the scoresheet, Hakim Ziyech continued his excellent run of form.
The Moroccan grabbed two assists on the night and orchestrated the Blues attack with panache. With all the new players settling in well, the Blues now look like a force to be reckoned with.
