Frank Lampard issues Christian Pulisic injury update
As reported by Football.london, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has issued an injury update on key star Christian Pulisic ahead of the club’s UEFA Champions League game against Rennes.
The USMNT international picked up an injury ahead of our game against Burnley last weekend. Having been named in the starting lineup, Lampard had to replace him with Timo Werner on the day.
But, there is good news for the fans as Lampard has confirmed that Pulisic’s injury is a minor one, although the winger will miss the midweek clash against Rennes. (h/t Football.london)
“Christian had a scan yesterday which showed a very minor injury to his hamstring. He won’t be fit for tomorrow, but we will see after that.”
Further elaborating on the former Borussia Dortmund man’s condition, Lampard admitted that it was a relief that the injury wasn’t a major one. He also added that the staff is looking at ways to manage the USMNT star more carefully once he returns. (h/t Football.london)
“It’s obviously a relief for it to be on the small side. He’s an important player for us. Some players who play on the edge and have speed could be more susceptible. We are looking at ways to manage Christian. We know the talent.”

The 22-year-old has had an on-off season so far due to fitness issues. He has featured just five times in all competitions, scoring a solitary goal. Hopefully, Pulisic is able to shake these troubles off as the season progresses.
