Anel Ahmedhodzic move to Chelsea being blocked by agent, claims father
Speaking to Sportsbladet (h/t Metro), Mirsad Ahmedhodzic, the father of Malmo defender and Chelsea target Anel Ahmedhodzic, has claimed that the youngster’s agent his blocking a potential transfer to Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old started out at the academy of Malmo, before moving to England in 2016, joining the Nottingham Forest youth academy.
Having spent three years at the club, Ahmedhodzic returned to Malmo in 2019 and following a loan stint at Danish club Hobro, the youngster has grown into a first-team regular at the club.
Chelsea have expressed an interest in signing the 21-year-old from the Swedish giants. It is being claimed that the Blues are willing to pay £6.9m to get the deal over the line. (h/t Metro)
However, according to the player’s father, Ahmedhodzic’s agent, Markus Rosenberg is blocking the defender’s move to the Bridge. (h/t Metro)
“He’s [Rosenberg] not doing his job. He has told Marina [Granovskaia] at Chelsea that Anel is not going there. He [Anel] wants to go abroad after the season finishes. ‘Markus hasn’t arranged this, he doesn’t have the contacts.”
However, the defender has criticised his father for the comments he has made. (h/t Metro)

Chelsea signed two centre-backs this summer, with Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr arriving at the club. The former has established himself as a key member of the side already, while the latter left on loan.
Nevertheless, considering Silva’s age, bringing in another young and talented defender like Ahmedhodzic, with an eye on the future, would be a smart move.
However, it remains to be seen, if there is any development to this transfer story.
