According to Goal (h/t Football.london), Chelsea star Victor Moses looks to be on his way to Russian giants Spartak Moscow.
The Russian transfer window is still open, meaning a deal for the Nigerian international can still be completed.
The winger joined Chelsea from Wigan Athletic in 2014. Apart for a brief stint under Antonio Conte, he has failed to hold down a regular starting spot at the club.
In fact, the Italian, now at Inter Milan, took the player on a loan last campaign. This was Moses’ fifth loan spell in the last seven years.
It is unlikely to be the last. A move to Spartak appears to be the most likely, subject to a medical. Inter too were keen on the player but failed to make a formal offer to Chelsea.
During his eight seasons at the club, Moses has made 128 appearances scoring 13 goals and assisting 18 more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Moses was left out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad for the group stages. He is easily the most recognizable name that has been omitted. This should give a good indication of his future at the club.
It does not appear as if the 29-year-old features in Frank Lampard’s plans at Chelsea. The winger’s contract at Chelsea runs until 2021.
A versatile player, Moses can play on both flanks. He represented England at various youth levels before shifting allegiance to Nigeria at the senior stage.
