Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech impresses for Morocco on return to action
As confirmed by the club’s official site, Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech has returned to competitive action with a bang.
The 27-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Blues since signing for the club earlier this summer.
An injury sustained against Brighton in a pre-season encounter has so far kept the former Ajax Amsterdam star out of action.
While he is yet to make his Chelsea return, Ziyech played the final half hour of Morocco’s 3-1 win over Senegal in a friendly.
He continued from where he left off as he was involved in the build-up to Morocco’s second goal. Ziyech played a couple of one-twos before the ball was threaded through to Youssef En-Nesryi whose put his side ahead.
With five minutes left, Ziyech registered an assist of his own when his free-kick was headed into the net by Youssef El Arabi.
It is a promising return to action for one of our key purchases this summer. With Christian Pulisic also back in contention, the Blues are set to experience a surge in their attacking prowess.
The prospect of Ziyech feeding the likes of Timo Werner is sure to send chills down the spine of opposition defenders.
A serial assist-getter, Ziyech made 45 assists for Ajax over the last two seasons. Hopefully, he will continue to do the same at Chelsea.
