A View From The Bridge

“Very happy and settling in well” – Chelsea new boy lifts the lid on his life at Stamford Bridge so far

Timo Werner says he is in love with life at Chelsea

Speaking to the club’s official site, new signing Timo Werner has opened up on his time since becoming a Chelsea player.

The 23-year-old is one of the club’s biggest signings this summer. A prolific goalscorer, his presence will add firepower to the Blues attack.

Werner got off to the best of starts as he scored within four minutes of his debut in the pre-season game against Brighton.

“Yes, I’m very happy and settling in well.”

The German international admitted that he is now familiar with the route from his home to Stamford Bridge. Having also trained at our stadium, he is now ready to call the place home.

“That’s important, knowing your way around your new surroundings.”

Werner revealed this familiarity is key especially when once one is thrust into new surroundings. He sure seems to know his way around the penalty box though as he continues to impress in training.

Antonio Rudiger helped Werner settle in at Chelsea

Although language proved to be a barrier initially, Werner is now comfortable. Those around the club have been helpful, with the striker now feeling at ease.

The presence of German speakers such as German international teammate Antonio Rudiger and Croatian star Mateo Kovacic also eased his initiation to life in London.

“I didn’t know London very well, I’d only visited a few times, so it was really important to have two guys like this helping me settle in.”

Werner is ready for the new season

Werner believes Chelsea are ready to take on Liverpool and Manchester City in the upcoming season. With new ideas and players thrown into the mix, Werner believes Chelsea are ready to take the fight to our opponents.

Chelsea face Brighton at the Amex Stadium in their first Premier League fixture of the 2020/21 season. Werner will hopefully repeat the trick to once again score on what should be his competitive debut.

Hopefully, the Blues can go one better this time and start the season with all three points.
