Everton interested in signing Kurt Zouma from Chelsea
According to French publication Le10Sport (h/t Football.london), Everton are interested in signing Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma before the transfer window closes.
Zouma has been with Chelsea since 2014, having arrived from Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne. Till date, the Frenchman has racked up 117 appearances for the Blues, scoring and assisting six goals apiece. (h/t Transfermarkt)
After a couple of loan spells away at Stoke City and Everton, Zouma became a first-team regular at the Bridge last season. He racked up 43 appearances in all competitions and has started three of our four games this term.
However, Everton are planning to test Chelsea’s resolve with a move for the 25-year-old late in the transfer window. (h/t Football.london)
Zouma had impressed during his loan spell at Goodison Park in 2018/19. He featured 36 times for the Merseysiders, scoring two and setting up two more. And they are now eyeing a reunion, as they look to bolster their defence. (h/t Football.london)
Following Thiago Silva’s arrival, it was always likely that Chelsea would offload one of their centre-backs. However, for the longest time it felt like Fikayo Tomori would be the one to leave, on loan. Incidentally, it was Everton, who were tipped to land the Englishman. (h/t Sky Sports)

However, of late, Antonio Rudiger has emerged as the likeliest to leave. The German has not played a single minute of football this term. He hasn’t been part of the matchday squad for three consecutive games.
Nevertheless, Zouma is a part of the plans under Frank Lampard. So, it is very much unlikely that the Blues will let him leave if Everton come up with an offer in the coming days.
