Kai Havertz completes Chelsea medical ahead of Stamford Bridge move

According to German publication Bild (h/t Daily Mail), Kai Havertz has passed his Chelsea medical ahead of a move to the London giants.

The 21-year-old will cost Chelsea a massive £90million making him the club’s most expensive signing ever.

With the medical now out of the way, Havertz is expected to complete his move to Chelsea in the coming days.

According to the report, Havertz will sign a five-year deal with the London giants. Chelsea will pay an initial £72million, with the rest to be made up in bonuses. (h/t Mirror)

With the formalities now completed, the midfielder’s transfer to the Bridge appears to be imminent.

Once completed Havertz will become Chelsea’s fifth major signing of the summer. The Blues had earlier signed Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva.

It is also the second high-profile player we will have signed from the Bundesliga following Werner. Alongside Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, they were arguably the best young attacking talents in the German top-flight.

Leverkusen manager, Peter Bosz, had confirmed on Monday that Havertz will no longer be training with the squad lending credence to his impending transfer. (h/t The Guardian)
