As confirmed by the club’s official site, new Chelsea signing Ben Chilwell took part in his first training session at Cobham today.
The 23-year-old joined the Blues last week in a deal worth £50m last week. His signing will strengthen what has been a key weakness in our squad last season.
The fact that he is back in training is a positive given the way his season ended prematurely in July. A foot injury saw him miss the final five games of Leicester’s Premier League campaign.
With the 2020/21 campaign nearing, his return to the pitch is a positive sign. He had revealed last week that he is feeling better as he works on his fitness.
“The injury is healing really well and I’ve been doing a lot of fitness work over the past four or five weeks.”
Chelsea fans will hopefully get to see the English international in action sooner rather than later.
Chelsea kick off their Premier League campaign away to Brighton and Hove Albion on 14th September.
The Blues will play their first home game against defending champions Liverpool five days later on the 19th.
