Father of Mason Mount dismisses reports that son is unhappy with the Kai Havertz transfer

According to the German publication Bild (h/t Mirror), Chelsea star Mason Mount was left disgruntled by the club’s signing of Kai Havertz.

It went on to add that the Blues youngster was unhappy having such a big money rival in his position. This has prompted his father to speak out on Twitter on the issue. (h/t Mirror)

Mount’s father, Tony responded to Christian Falk, the Head of Football at Bild with a single word-‘Bull’ accompanied by a barrage of emojis. (h/t Mirror)

This should put to rest any suggestion of dicontentment regarding the youngster and our impressive summer transfer business.

Mount enjoyed a breakout season that saw him establish himself as an important first-team player. The 21-year-old made 53 appearances in all competitions last season while scoring eight goals and assisting six more. (h/t Transfermarkt)

His performances even saw him make it to Gareth Southgate’s England squad. The Chelsea star has so far won six senior caps for his country.

Mason Mount will do well to embrace competition from Kai Havertz

While Havertz’s signing could limit Mount’s minutes on the pitch, it also gives him an opportunity to raise his game.

The Chelsea youngster is a talented player with a high ceiling. The prospect of him making it as an elite footballer could depend on how he responds to the German’s threat.

Mount’s father’s comment should come as a relief to those worried about the same. If anything it would appear that the youngster is ready and welcomes the challenge set forward by Havertz.

Chelsea signed Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen

The Blues have enjoyed the transfer window of dreams. We have brought in a number of first-team stars who can play a key role for us next season.

Apart from Havertz, this includes the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, and Thiago Silva. Our activity could be far from done with a new goalkeeper also on the agenda.
