Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz jokes about Kai Havertz future amidst Chelsea interest
According to the Mirror, Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz has joked about the future of star midfielder Kai Havertz amidst interest from Chelsea.
Leverkusen’s dreams of qualifying for the Champions League came to a bitter end as they lost to Inter Milan in the Europa League quarterfinals. Havertz found himself on the scoresheet but could do little to change the result.
When asked after the match on his star’s future, Bosz joked that Havertz will be moving to the Netherlands.
“Yes, I can announce that he will play for Heracles Almelo.”
Bosz is familiar with the Dutch side, having managed them twice before. Heracles too joined in on the action by tweeting a mocked-up picture of the German ace.
Leverkusen’s exit from the Europa League has brought their 2019-20 campaign to an end. This could pave the way for Chelsea to make a push for Havertz.
According to the report, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard dropped a hint regarding the same when he liked a video of the German ace on social media.
Havertz is keen to move to Chelsea and has also agreed on a five-year deal. All that remains now is for both sides to agree on a fee.
Chelsea have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Adding Havertz to the mix will add to a solid spine that could potentially secure us for the better part of a decade. Whether an agreement can be reached or not remains to be seen.
