Chelsea will kick off their 2020/21 Premier League season away to Brighton and Hove Albion as per the fixture list released today.
The same was confirmed by the club’s official site. The game will take place on a Monday night on September 14.
The Blues have their first home game just five days later against reigning champions Liverpool. It appears to be a twist of fate that Timo Werner‘s first action at Stamford Bridge is against the Reds.
Chelsea face Tottenham Hotspur on 28 Novemeber and face Arsenal on Boxing Day. The reverse fixtures will occur in February and May respectively.
Overall it seems a balanced list that could work to our advantage. Apart from Liverpool, our starting set of fixtures seem managable to say the least.
May could be a defining month with the season drawing to a close. The Blues face off against Manchester City, Arsenal and Leicester City in our last four fixtures.
With the latter two at home, we will go into the game with an advantage. Hopefully our major season objectives will be wrapped up by then.
