“Stays with you for life” – Lampard believes FA Cup win will be life-changing for current Chelsea starlets

Frank Lampard believes winning the FA Cup a life-long memory to relish

Speaking to the press ahead of the FA Cup final, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard believes that winning the FA Cup would be a defining moment for his players.

A four-time winner of the prestigious trophy as a player, Lampard certainly knows what it is all about. He could win his first major silverware as a manager if his side defeats arch-rivals Arsenal at Wembley.

“Winning the Cup still means the same. It stays with you for life.”

Lampard believes his side go in with an excellent chance of winning the competition. The Blues have shown far more consistency than Arsenal this season and should see it through if they play to their ability.

“If we can find the standards we have found this season then we have a really good chance to win.”

Chelsea secured a top-four finish with an impressive win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on the last day of the season. One man who was not a part of it was goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spaniard was also dropped for the semifinal clash against Manchester United, with Willy Caballero deputizing in goal.

Willy Caballero could start in goal for Chelsea

It remains to be seen if Lampard will continue to put his faith in the veteran Argentine than Kepa.

A number of young Chelsea stars will walk out at Wembley in what could be a defining moment in their careers. The first piece of silverware is always special and can set the tone for more to follow.

Lampard believes this is the case. He went on to add that success on Saturday can lay the foundation for future glories.

Lampard has proven his credentials as a potentially excellent manager in his first season at the Bridge.

He fell short at the last step in his previous job at Derby County last season. Hopefully, things will pan out differently this season. A win could set the tone for not just his players but also himself as one of the best upcoming young managers.
