Chelsea offer Michy Batshuayi to Leeds United
According to Get French Football News (h/t The Sun), Chelsea have offered Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi to Leeds United in a cut-price deal this summer.
The 26-year-old joined Chelsea in 2016. He has however failed to make an impact at the Bridge as has spent three spells out on loan.
Batshuayi started out as the second choice striker this season behind Tammy Abraham. His ineffective performances soon saw Olivier Giroud overtake him.
The Frenchman has led the Chelsea line since the restart. Batshuayi, on the other hand, has not even featured once. In fact, his last appearance for the club was against Bournemouth all the way back in February.
With Timo Werner now at the club, Batshuayi will have dropped another rung in the pecking order. His chances of playing at Stamford Bridge have gotten harder if anything.
The Belgian has scored six goals and assisted two more in 23 appearances this season. While his numbers are not the worst, his performances have been found lacking.
According to the report, Chelsea are open to letting the striker leave for £25million. With just a year left on his current deal, it makes sense to cash in on him and invest the money elsewhere.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa will be familiar with Batshuayi’s ability, having managed him earlier at Olympic Marseille. The pair did not appear to have the best relationship, but the Argentine’s methods got the best out of Batshuayi.
Whether Bielsa is now ready for a reunion at Leeds remains to be seen.

The writing was on the wall for Batshuayi if one considers our pre-restart preparations.
The Belgian played a largely peripheral role and was also among the two players who did not have a shirt number. The other was academy player Armando Borja.
