“Didn’t care”,”Get Chilwell” – Some fans express their frustration after Chelsea star’s poor outing vs Bayern

Twitter reacts as Emerson Palmieri struggles against Bayern Munich

Chelsea left-back, Emerson Palmieri came in for heavy criticism following his side’s 4-1 defeat away to Bayern Munich.

The Blues lost 7-1 on aggregate, bringing their European and 2019-20 campaign to an end. Trailing 3-0 from the first leg, the task was always going to be difficult.

Chelsea did not make things easy for them as they looked largely disorganized at the back. With Emerson getting the start over Marcos Alonso, fans have scrutinised his performance.

Although the Italian showed intent going forward, he was largely caught out while defending. With Frank Lampard keen on Ben Chilwell, it remains to be seen if Emerson has played his last game for the club.

Left-back is a position that the Blues are looking to strengthen this summer. Given Emerson’s performance, it is clear why.

The appearance at the Allianz Arena was just his 21st appearance of the season. With a return to Italy being mooted, his time at Chelsea appears to be drawing to a close.
