Chelsea could sign Wilfried Zaha for £30m
According to the Sun, Chelsea could sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha in a cut-price deal worth £30m.
The 27-year-old is keen to move and Palace are ready to sell. If it happens, it will be the second time that they would have sold the flying winger.
Palace’s star man, Zaha had attracted attention from Arsenal and Everton last summer. The Eagles, however, held firm, ensuring their ace stayed put at Selhurst Park.
Previously valued at £70m, Zaha could now leave for less than half of that amount this summer.
Zaha is Palace’s highest earner. He is on £130,000 a week and is under contract at the club until 2023. Those two factors, plus the fact he will turn 28 in November, are seen as turn-offs for potential admirers.
The Ivory Coast international has endured a difficult season this time around. He failed to hit his usual heights and scored just four goals and five assists in 39 games.
Zaha is keen to move to a bigger club. The winger endured a difficult spell at United, who he joined in 2013. He would eventually return to Palace and rebuild his reputation as one of the best wide-men in the league.
Ironically, United are another side who have been reported to be interested in the player’s services. Nearing his thirties, the 27-year-old could yet have another opportunity to make it big.
