Christian Pulisic impressed by new signing Timo Werner
According to the club’s official site (h/t Metro), Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has been left impressed by new signing Timo Werner.
The German ace became Chelsea’s second high-profile signing of the summer following the capture of Hakim Ziyech. The 24-year-old joins the club having scored an impressive 34 goals and 13 assists in 45 games last season.
The Chelsea attack has looked far too one dimensional at times. Often it has fallen to Pulisic to open the door to the opposition goal. With Werner now alongside him, the task should get easier next season.
Werner has been training for Chelsea since last week. It appears that his performances have left a good impression on Pulisic.
Labelling him a dangerous player, Pulisic believes Werner is pacy and has a keen eye for goal.
“He’s a very dangerous player.”
Pulisic believes Werner is a player with similar traits to himself and also other attackers. It should bode well when it comes to connecting with each other on the pitch.
The American has enjoyed playing alongside Werner and cannot wait to line up alongside him on the field.
“Playing against him has been a great experience and it’s going to be nice to have him on my team as well. So I’m definitely looking forward to that.”
Pulisic also labelled the German a very humble person who is eager to come in for work. It is important that players have the right attitude off the field. That appears to be the case with Werner.
The striker could only watch on as his teammates struggled to break down Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley. Pulisic was on the scoresheet that night and was by far our best player.
With them set to combine next summer, fireworks could be on the cards.
