Everton intent on signing Kurt Zouma this summer
According to a report from Le10 Sport (h/t Mirror), Everton are stepping up their efforts to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma in the summer.
The 25-year-old Zouma joined Chelsea in the summer of 2014. The Frenchman showed a lot of potential early in his career at the club, but injuries and change of management meant he had dropped down the pecking order at the club.
As a result, he had to spend the last two seasons out on loan at Stoke City and Everton respectively. During his time with the Toffees, Zouma showed great improvement.
Back at Chelsea, he started the 2019/20 season as the first-choice centre-back under Frank Lampard. However, a dip in form has seen him drop out of the side behind Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.
Even then, Zouma has featured 34 times across all competitions for us this term, bagging a goal and three assists in the process.
Nevertheless, Everton are hoping to make the most of his situation by swooping in for the French international. The Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti is eyeing defensive reinforcements, which makes sense given their plight, with Zouma emerging as a viable target. (h/t Mirror)

Zouma still has two years left on his contract with Chelsea. While he is an useful squad member, no doubt, the fact that he has started just two of our last 11 Premier League games indicates that he is hardly a regular at the moment.
And Lampard may be open to cashing in on him, in order to generate transfer funds. But the club needs to have adequate depth at the heart of the defence, which might force them to reconsider. It remains to be seen where Zouma’s future lies.
