Arturo Vidal touted to replace Jorginho at Chelsea
According to Fox Sports journalist Christian Martin via Red Gol (h/t Express), Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal will make an excellent replacement for Chelsea star Jorginho.
The Italian international has had a love-hate relationship with the Stamford Bridge faithful. He has found match time hard to come by since the restart and has started just two games.
He has constantly been linked with a move to Juventus where he can yet again team up with former boss Maurizio Sarri.
Martin believes Vidal will be an excellent addition for Chelsea. The Chilean star is expected to leave the Camp Nou, two years after joining from Juventus.
“At Chelsea, Arturo it would be a perfect fit.”
The Chilean is a vastly experienced player. He has racked up 115 senior caps for his country and has the versatility to play in a number of different positions.
Vidal is considered surplus to requirements by Barca coach Quique Setien. He has still made 40 appearances in all competitions this term. A winner, he has played for some of the biggest names in European football.
According to the report, Martin expects Vidal to form a formidable partnership with N’Golo Kante.
“Arturo has quality, he has a break, he has strength, he has an attitude, playing him next to Kanté would be tremendous.”

Vidal was one of the best midfielders in the world during his heyday. Unfortunately, he is way past that now. At 33, he has slowed down and is a shadow of the player he once was.
It is difficult to envisage someone as inert as the Chilean to flourish in Lampard’s fluid system at Chelsea. Ironically, this is the same reason fans hate on Jorginho for.
