“Shut the hell up”- Some fans react furiously at source as Chelsea injury news emerges

Twitter reacts furiously as controversial publication breaks Billy Gilmour news

According to an exclusive carried by The Sun, Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour will be sidelined for the rest of the season.

The youngster has enjoyed a fine run of games since impressing against Liverpool in January. Assuming the news is true, it will be a setback to the youngster’s development.

Gilmour went off injured in our 3-2 win over Crystal Palace. According to the report, insiders at Stamford Bridge fear he will be missing for at least the next four or five games with the problem.

Is Billy Gilmour set to miss the rest of the season?

With N’Golo Kante out injured and Mateo Kovacic recovering, the Blues may have no other option but to reintegrate Jorginho. The Italian has played just ten minutes since the restart. Coincidentally when he came on for Gilmour against Palace.

Personally, the lack of any concrete information in the report raises more questions than answers. A number of fans took to Twitter to question the news and also ridicule the source.

We personally feel fans are better served waiting for the club to release the news or a more reliable source to come forward. Given the newspaper’s tendency to sensationalize, we will take this for now with a pinch of salt.

We take a look below at some of the tweets made by fans.
