Chelsea not interested in signing Dean Henderson
According to a report from ESPN (h/t Express), contrary to widespread claims, Chelsea have no interest in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Of late, reports have been doing the rounds that Chelsea are intent on landing the 23-year-old Henderson. A product of the Manchester United youth academy, he hasn’t had the chance to break into the first-team at Old Trafford, but has shone bright on his loan spell at Sheffield United.
The Englishman has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this season, after having helped the Blades to a promotion to the top-flight in the last campaign.
Henderson’s exploits have led to speculations linking him with a switch to Chelsea, with the Blues reportedly ready to offer a bumper contract to sign the Englishman.
The goalkeeping situation at Chelsea is far from ideal at the moment. Kepa Arrizabalaga has had an underwhelming campaign, so much so that Frank Lampard is ready to offload him in the summer.
However, as per the aforementioned report, there is no truth to the claims that Chelsea want Henderson as his replacement. It goes on to state that Lampard has no intentions of signing the Manchester United academy man.
Instead, the Blues are keen on recruiting someone with more experience and proven pedigree at the highest level, such as Atletico Madrid’s No.1 Jan Oblak.

It makes total sense, considering that Oblak is far more experienced and established in comparison to Henderson. However, the Atletico star has a release clause of £109m, which might prove to be a stumbling block.
It remains to be seen who Lampard decides to go after, but it seems like Kepa’s time at the club could be nearing an end.
