Lampard gets a royal seal of approval from Prince William after promising first season at Chelsea

Prince William believes Frank Lampard have brought back pride at Chelsea

Speaking with Peter Crouch on his podcast (h/t Daily Star), Prince William has praised the work done by Chelsea manager Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.

The Duke of Cambridge is a huge fan of football and an avid follower of Aston Villa. He touched upon the topic of the Blues boss while discussing his son’s affiliation in the sport.

Prince William admitted that he wouldn’t least mind if his son George chose to follow Chelsea.

Initially sceptical of his son’s potential choice, Prince William was concerned about the club’s culture. All that changed after Lampard took over last summer.

Prince William believes Frank Lampard has brought the right attitude at Chelsea

He has praised the Blues boss for bringing back the right attitude. Prince William also went on to add that he likes values and the ethos of the club.

“Previously I was a bit concerned about him supporting Chelsea, but now Frank’s come in I feel the culture’s a bit different at Chelsea and I’d be ok with it. I do like the values and the ethos of the club.”

He also revealed the club will have to set an example for their young fans. With Lampard at the helm, that should not be a concern. A fan favourite and an English legend during his playing days, he would be well aware of what the club represents.

Lampard ensured Chelsea qualified for the Champions League. With Arsenal next in the FA Cup final, the Blues could end the season with a major trophy. This could prove to be the impetus for further success in the coming years.

Lampard will Chelsea out in the FA Cup final this weekend

Prince William had announced last month that the FA Cup final for 2020 has been renamed as the Heads Up FA Cup Final. This was done in honour of the Heads Up mental health campaign launched by him in 2019.

Prince William revealed that he chose to support Villa, unlike his peers who supported Chelsea or Manchester United. He went on to add that it was the history and Villa’s success in Europe that convinced him to support them.
