Frank Lampard to hold off on key transfer decision until after FA Cup final

Frank Lampard delays Chelsea outgoing transfer decisions until after FA Cup final

According to The Guardian, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will take a call on outgoing transfers only after the FA Cup final this Saturday.

The Blues are set to have a busy summer transfer window. Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have both joined while the club is closing in on a deal for Kai Havertz.

A number of players have also been linked with exits, which will only be considered after the showdown against Arsenal.

Italian international Jorginho is also thought to be on his way out and has been linked with a reunion with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus. Tammy Abraham’s future could be up in the air with a rejuvenated Olivier Giroud becoming the preferred choice upfront towards the end of the season.

With Werner now a part of the squad, Abraham will at best play second-fiddle to the prolific German. Having started this campaign as the club’s first-choice forward, injuries and bad form have taken their toll on the 22-year-old.

Batshuayi has no future at the club

Striker Michy Batshuayi is tipped to move on after falling further down the pecking order. The signs were on the cards for the Belgian who was on the periphery of Chelsea’s pre-restart preparations.

Midfielder Ross Barkley is another name that could be on his way out. The Englishman was touted to act as a counterweight in a deal for West Ham United defender Declan Rice. The Hammers, however, are not interested and are holding out for around £65m.

Another player whose future could be decided in Willian. The Brazilian is in the last days of his Chelsea contract and has been linked to Arsenal.
