Inter Milan set to rekindle interest in Olivier Giroud
According to the Daily Mail, Serie A giants Inter Milan are set to rekindle their interest in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
Now managed by former Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, the Italians were keen on bringing the Frenchman to San Siro in January. (h/t Daily Mail)
However, the deal fell through much to the displeasure of the player. Staying at the Bridge however has proven to work out well for Giroud since.
The 33-year-old has made the most of the opportunities afforded to him since. Having scored crucial goals and led well from the front, Giroud was eventually rewarded by a one-year contract extension.
The veteran forward has made it a habit of scoring important goals. He opened the scoring against former side Arsenal in the finals of the Europa League last season.
Giroud has played in all five Premier League games since the restart. He has scored three goals as the Blues tighten their grip on the third spot. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The French international is not the only player the Nerazzuri are interested in. They are also keen on Emerson Palmieri who has fallen out of favor at the Bridge. (h/t Daily Mail)
Chelsea have more competition upfront following the signing of Timo Werner. With Michy Batshuayi failing to impress, it makes more sense for the club to sell the Belgian.

Giroud is a level-headed player who steps up when needed. The club will do well to keep him on for another season. Tammy Abraham is still learning his trade while Werner could need time to adapt.
Once again we may have to turn to the experienced Frenchman to lead us from the front.
Chelsea next face Sheffield United in the Premier League this weekend. A win will further solidify out hold on the third spot.
