Chelsea lead PL rivals in the race for European hotshot due to this one reason

Chelsea can offer Kai Havertz more playing time

According to DW (h/t Express), Chelsea are leading the race for Bayer Leverkusen sensation Kai Havertz.

This is primarily owing to the fact that the Blues are best placed to offer him more playing time with respect to our rivals.

The 21-year-old is one of the sought after players in world football. He has enjoyed an excellent season, having scored 17 goals and made 9 assists in 43 games. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Chelsea can offer Kai Havertz more playing time

This has helped him garner attention from a number of clubs including Liverpool and Manchester City. However, neither of them can guarantee the 21-year-old a position in the starting line-up.

According to the report, Jorginho may leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season after falling out of favour under Frank Lampard. The Italian is yet to feature for the club since the restart.

Selling him will free up a spot in the midfield, which can then be used to accommodate Havertz. Such a sale will also help us collect funds to meet the German’s asking price of about £73million.

Jorginho could be on his way out of Chelsea

Leverkusen has endured a difficult end to the season after promising so much. Not only have they missed out on a top-four finish but also fell 4-2 to Bayern Munich in the DFB Pokal final.

The German side’s inability to qualify for the Champions League could be a determining factor in him deciding his future. It must, however, be mentioned that Leverkusen are still within a fighting chance of making the premier competition if they win the Europa League.

It is ironic that our rivals cannot sign Havertz because of their excellent line-ups. It promises to be a busy summer at Chelsea. The Blues have so far invested well and in Havertz, we will be getting a potential superstar in the works.
