Chelsea consider swoop for Jadon Sancho after Manchester United hesitate on transfer fee
According to a report from Goal (h/t Express), Chelsea are considering making an approach for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, who is a primary transfer target for rivals Manchester United.
Since moving to Germany three years ago, Sancho has grown into one of the most exciting young wingers across Europe. The 20-year-old enjoyed a scintillating 2019/20 campaign, scoring and assisting 20 goals apiece in all competitions.
Manchester United have made the England international their top target. However, they are unwilling to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £115m asking price. In fact, they don’t want to shell out more than £50m for their top target. (h/t Express)
Given this wide gulf in valuations, negotiations are likely to drag on, allowing other clubs to swoop in. And Chelsea are hoping to capitalise on this and make a move for the 20-year-old Englishman. (h/t Express)
A new winger is a necessary addition at Stamford Bridge. Pedro is on his way out once his contract expires, while Willian’s situation remains unclear as well. Signing Sancho would address those departures, while also making us even more dangerous in the final third.
However, the report adds that the club will consider moving in on the 20-year-old provided our efforts to sign Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell don’t bear fruits.

We have already made quite the splash in the transfer market signing Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. Those two arrivals, without a doubt, will take the team to the next level.
And if we’re able to add Sancho as well, there would be no stopping us. Exciting times lie ahead for Chelsea fans.
