Frank Lampard calls for more signings at Chelsea

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed that the club can sign more players if they want to.

This will come as a sobering thought to our rivals, who have been caught unawares by our preemptive actions in the transfer market.

The Blues have brought in both Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner in deals worth a combined £84million. The club’s activity is, however, far from done.

“There are other areas we may want to improve on as we go along. They have to be players who are in the market and we feel we can get.”

With the window to be extended until October, Chelsea are ready to move for more players. We have been linked with the likes of Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz.

Both of them do not come cheap, with the Foxes star costing £80m and the Bundesliga sensation valued at £90m. Although the latter’s value can drop if Leverkusen don’t make it to the Champions League, it still represents a significant investment. (h/t Daily Mail)

According to the report, the club will also look to bring in a new centre-half and a goalkeeper. The latter would happen only if we loan out Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The addition of Ziyech and Werner will be a massive boost to our attack. Deficiences in other parts of the pitch must also be addressed.

The gap between us and the top two at this moment in time is significant. Players coming in will also need time to adjust and familiarize themselves with our system – a fact not lost on Lampard.

“We need to try to work to close that gap but we have to be ready to give the players that come in, the two players you’re talking about, some time for adapting to the League.”

The boss also touched upon his excellent working relationship with Petr Cech and Marina Granovskaia. The trio has so far done well and has made this the most exciting transfer window for us in recent times.

The Chelsea squad still needs a number of players to move up a level. So far, our moves in the market have been promising. It remains to be seen who else will join the Blue revolution.
