Report: La Liga side emerge as suitors for under-fire Chelsea star

Kepa Arrizabalaga was unconvincing for Chelsea

Valencia keen to take Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan

According to Spanish outlet Marca (h/t Daily Mail), Valencia have emerged as suitors for under-fire Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Spaniard has endured a mixed time at the Bridge since joining the club for a world record fee in 2018. His inability to consistently perform even saw him get dropped in favour of Willy Caballero earlier this season.

With his future up in the air, Valencia have now emerged as a possible destination. (h/t Daily Mail)

According to the report, the LaLiga club want to sign the Spaniard as a replacement for Jasper Cillessen who is expected to leave this season.

They are keen to bring him on a two-year loan with an option to buy. Given the amount we have invested in him, it remains to be seen how we will handle this. (h/t Daily Mail)

The move could also trigger a merry go round also involving Ajax Amsterdam. Kepa moving to Valencia could set off a domino that could see Andre Onana join Chelsea and Cillessen replace Onana at Ajax. (h/t Daily Mail)

Kepa is now back in the Chelsea lineup and has shown a greater degree of awareness in goal since his return. However, the report also states that he is keen to move on in search of regular playing time.

Given that the Euros are set to be held next summer, he is keen to prove he can do the job for the Spanish national team. (h/t Daily Mail)

If Kepa does relish a challenge and is keen to prove himself, he will do well to stay at Stamford Bridge.

There is no reason why he will be benched if he performs as expected. If it makes him raise himself up a level, it will benefit everyone involved.
