Victor Moses will return to Chelsea in the summer
According to Sky Sports Italia (h/t Daily Star), Chelsea star Victor Moses will return to the club once his loan at Inter Milan ends in the summer.
This means he will miss out on Inter’s Europa League campaign to be held in August. The 29-year-old joined the club on loan in January, having spent last year at Fenerbahce.
He has so far made 9 appearances for the Nerazzurri while assisting one goal. In Antonio Conte, he has a manager who knows his strengths inside out, having earlier managed him at Chelsea.
Moses impressed as a wing-back in the Italian manager’s 3-4-3 system at Chelsea. He was a part of Conte’s Blues squad that won both the Premier League and the FA Cup.
The winger made 78 appearances under Conte and scored 8 goals and 8 assists from the right wing-back position. (h/t Transfermarkt)
According to the report, Conte is desperate to reach an agreement with the Blues to allow the player to feature in the European competition. He is keen to secure the trophy and is hoping to use all the resources at his disposal.
Meanwhile, Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta is working hard behind the scenes to work out an agreement about being able to use Moses.
It will be in our best interests to permit Inter an extension. The Nigerian international is on the periphery of the Chelsea squad and does not appear to have a future at the Bridge.
If he does impress in the Europa League and help Inter win it, it could make our job of selling him in the summer much easier.
