Italian giants keen on four-player swap deal with Chelsea involving £18m cash

Juventus to offer cash plus players for Marcos Alonso and Jorginho

According to Italian publication Calciomercato (h/t Express), Juventus are set to offer two players plus cash for Chelsea duo Marcos Alonso and Jorginho.

Managed by former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, Juventus are keen to bring in the duo he managed at Stamford Bridge.

Of the duo, Jorginho is the least surprising name considering his history with the Bianconeri boss. The duo was together at Napoli before making the switch to Chelsea. They can now combine for the third time in Turin if the transfer is completed.

Juventus are keen to restructure their midfield. The Italians sold Emre Can in January and now look set to part ways with Aaron Ramsey and Miralem Pjanic. (h/t Express)

Juventus are keen on Marcos Alonso and Jorginho

This will open up a spot in the middle of the park for Jorginho. The 28-year-old is a Serie A veteran, who is familiar with the concept of Sarriball. His lack of pace will not be a hindrance in the comparatively slow setting of Serie A.

They also plan to revamp their left-back spot by bringing in Alonso. The Spaniard is a maverick going forward and has a knack of scoring goals from left-back.

Federico Bernardeschi can offset the loss of Pedro and Willian

Chelsea value the duo at £71.8million. The Italians are keen to drive down the price by offering Federico Bernardeschi and Adrien Rabiot in part-exchange. The deal will also involve a cash payout worth £18m. (h/t Express)

It will not be the worst deal given the options the duo will present us with. With Chelsea already chasing a host of left-backs, Alonso’s sale is unlikely to affect us much.

If N’Golo Kante can stay fit, Chelsea can afford to lose Jorginho. With Billy Gilmour also impressing, we do have options if the Italian is sold.

Bernardeschi is a wide player who can play anywhere along the frontline. Given that we will lose Pedro and Willian, the addition of wide players is a priority.

Not only can we get two good players but also some cash that can be used for other transfers.

On paper, the pros outweigh the cons. It remains to be seen if Chelsea believe the same.
