Frank Lampard delivers Chelsea injury update following Leicester City win
According to Football.london, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has given an update on the injuries plaguing his side.
The major worry will be regarding Christian Pulisic, who has been one of our best players since the restart. In a half that infuriated Lampard to no end, the American international was the lone ray of light.
He was taken off during the second half drinks break after experiencing tension in his muscles. He was immediately taken off and was seen sporting an ice pack.
“We will find out over the next day or so how that is.”
The Blues boss has revealed that the winger will be tested today and hopes the issue is not serious. Pulisic has missed a chunk of games this season owing to injury. It will be a massive blow for us heading into the tail end of the season.
Another player who is on the sidelines is defender Andreas Christensen. The Dane missed the game owing to a hip injury.
“With Andreas, he is having a small problem up in around his hip. He tried to train yesterday and didn’t feel comfortable so he is out of the squad.”
The Blues are currently five points clear in fourth spot. Pulisic played a key role in extending our lead by scoring against both Aston Villa and Manchester City.
With both Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers breathing down our neck, we will need our best player available for the run-in.
