Chelsea reject Juventus proposal for Jorginho-Pjanic swap
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Express), Chelsea have turned down Juventus’ approach for midfield mainstay Jorginho.
The Italian champions have been linked with a move for our star midfielder for some time now. Maurizio Sarri, who signed him at Stamford Bridge from Napoli, is keen on another reunion with his former protege. (h/t Express)
To that end, Juventus are prepared to offer Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic in exchange for the Italian international. However, Chelsea have rejected their advances, as the club has no intention of letting Jorginho leave. (h/t Express)
Pjanic has been at Juventus since 2016, having signed from AS Roma, and has been a key part of their domination in Italian football in recent years. However, he has shown signs of age catching up with him this season. At 30, the Bosnian is two years older than Jorginho.
Furthermore, Jorginho has grown into a pivotal part of the team under Frank Lampard this season, after having had his ups and downs in his debut season at the Bridge.
In 37 appearances across all competitions, Jorginho has bagged 7 goals and set up two more. His impact has been so substantial that Lampard even went on to name him as the club’s vice-captain.

Losing a player as important as Jorginho, who is in his prime years, for Pjanic, who is into his thirties, would make little sense for Chelsea.
And rightly, the club has turned down Juventus’ advances to swoop the Italian international away from Stamford Bridge.
