Chelsea handed boost as Man United drop out of race to sign £75m Bundesliga star

Chelsea given a clear run at German ace Kai Havertz

According to Daily Star, Chelsea have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen ace Kai Havertz.

This follows Manchester United’s decision to not pursue the 21-year-old. The Red Devils will now pursue other targets. (h/t Daily Star)

The youngster has scored 15 goals and eight assists in 38 appearances so far this season including five goals in four games since the restart. Havertz also showcased his leadership skills as he captained his side in three of the games. (h/t Transfermarkt)

United have now turned their attention to Ajax Amsterdam star Donny van de Beek. This has paved the way for us to sign Havertz. The Blues are ready to offer £75m for the youngster. (h/t Daily Star)

Havertz is ready for the next step in his career. He is, however, wary of being demoted to the bench at a new club. This could limit his chances for Germany with the European Championships rescheduled to next summer. (h/t Metro)

Liverpool and Bayern Munich were also linked with Havertz. Neither side has have yet made a move to land the player.

Frank Lampard will have a reinforced attack to choose from

It was earlier reported that Chelsea have offered Havertz a five-year deal worth €8m a year in wages. This, if true, would make him our second high profile signing from the Bundesliga this summer, following the deal for Timo Werner.

With Hakim Ziyech set to join us, the addition of Havertz will add a lot of firepower to the Chelsea attack. A versatile player capable of playing a variety of positions the German could be the ace up our sleeve.

Singing these promising players will ensure we leave our fellow rivals behind. This will also see us close the gap to the top two sides in the league.

Our moves in the market have caught the other clubs off guard. With Havertz we can unsettle the apple cart yet again.
